Duke offers a two-year vascular surgery training program, accepting one incoming Fellow per year. The curriculum, which includes training in open surgical techniques, endovascular techniques, diagnostic modalities (MR, CT, ultrasound, and PVRs), and related fields (Cardiology, Hematology, Interventional Radiology), also allows a three month block of time to be devoted exclusively to research. The curriculum is structured in an integrated fashion, so that the Fellow rotates on these various disciplines throughout the two year period, rather than concentrating exclusively on endovascular for a year and open surgery for a year.  <more>

 

 

 

Physicians with an interest in the advanced treatment of venous disorders may apply to participate in our venous Observership program. This program is between one and three months in duration, and offers the practitioner the opportunity to learn about the treatment of a wide variety of venous disorders, including thromboembolic disease, vascular anomalies, chronic venous insufficiency, and cosmetic venous disorders. Treatment modalities include laser vein ablation, thermal vein ablation, chemical vein ablation and sclerotherapy, venous stenting, and thrombolysis. The program can be tailored to meet individual needs and interests.
